Star European Championship - All the efforts for the Championship |
CASCAIS, PORTUGAL-(3-9-2003) After a day dedicated to registration and measurement, today's afternoon occured the Pre European Race. The practice race goal was to allow the sailors to adapt and adjust to the wind and sea conditions that will face in the actual championship. The race was set to course 3 with a total of about 10 nautical miles. However most of the crews decided not to participate on the race. Those who sailed rounded the first mark and, after making four legs, headed shore. The start was by 15h15m, the crews sailed to the first mark with the north wind blowing about 6, 7 knots. By the end of the fourth leg, rounding mark 1 (the closest to the dock), they all abondoned the race area without revealing any tactic for the event. Tomorrow at 14h00 will take place the opening race with the 73 crews registrated on the Star Class European Championship 2003.
